I was reading the letters in the Wanderer about flat tyres and the weight of your motorhome. I have a Sunliner Holiday and it is over 2 tone my question is can you get road assistance or what do you do I am sure I could not lift the tyre to change it . I am a member of the NRMA but have not put the Motorhome on it as yet do anyone one know if they come out .
I think with your weight they do come for flat tyres etc - best idea is to give them a ring - if you were 4 tonne and over, is where you have difficulty I believe. It is that they really only have the capacity for cars and lighter weight vehicles - and the heavier motorhomes need a truck service for tyres. Think this is what happens, going on what some others have experienced.

Do you know if the truck service for tyres have a agent that you can contact if you are in the never never or how you go about getting them to come out to you. I have heard that you can travel slowly if the flat tyre is on the inside wheel as the other wheel will take the weight. Knowing my luck it will be on the front.
We have NRMA Premium which to date has been brilliant.
Covers the car and the van.
They towed us (2 people, 2 dogs, the can and the van) to the next place we were booked into- which was almost our whole day's travel that day.
The came back the next day and took the car to the registered dealer's for repair.
They paid our accommodation, organised a very nice rental car till ours was back online.
They rang us every day to see we were OK
They rang the dealer's to hurry them along for us as well!
We won't travel without it, even though we have free roadside assist on the new car from Ford.
I rang the NRMA yes they will cover your Motorhome under NRMA Premium Care Plus for $122 + you have to have as well Premium Care which is $159 so for $281.00 you are covered for10 tone. If you have any other cars it is another $159.00 I forgot to say this is with Gold Membership.
I have racv total care and racv covers not only what you are driving but what you are towing as well the cover is not individual vehicles but the vehicle that I am driving
I have premium RAA cover in SA. I had a flat in the rear duals on the Mercedes yesterday. They used the jack which comes with my vehicle to do the job. That would be the clue to getting assistance. Make sure you have the jack to do the job. He and I both had trolley jacks but they don't get the lift needed to clear the tyre from the ground.
The tyres were old and it was on the top of my agenda to get new ones. So yesterday afternoon I had 6 new tyres put on the Sprinter.
So just check with the service provider to learn what they do cover in your instance. Good luck and safe and happy travles.
