With the proliferation of OH&S/workplace safety/insurance conditions - which in turn owe their increasing presence to litigious people - it could be a requirement to have all of your electrical gear tested and tagged annually, starting with your extension lead.
If one child is saved etc.
Although as we found at work, a tagged appliance was probably fine on the day it was tested.
I presume it is as John (Yeoeleven) says - travelling in the same direction with others, in a sort of convoy - we have just been tagging from Townsville to Port Augusta with two other GN's - had a great time! Have also tagged with Yeoeleven in Tasmania, hope to do some more down south here in the summer with him.

Well, we called it "tagging" - say - "tagged with HW Brisbane to Echuca" - tagalong, I think anyway, is when you go on say a 4wd trek with an organised group or company, they call that "tagalong" - my thoughts anyway.

I didn't realize there were so many explanations.. :) :) :) for tagging, and all of them very clever.
However, I really did mean in regards to being on the road,
I gather if you meet up at a camp spot and arrange to travel from say camp #1 to Camp #12 and maybe it's 20 km or 200 km you don't necessarily travel end to end but meet up at Camp #12. that afternoon so maybe you mind them a spot.
Did I get that right ?
