Very, very good. In fact I would say excellent.
That top one, the coloured one, I would put on my wall and think it was done by a professional.

Kerry they are brilliant Im no expert but Im pretty sure you would be able to sell them now.  I Just love the monochrome one it is just a little different just out of interest how many colours did you use. Wouldnt mind having a go at one of those. Great job Im very impressed.

Not bad for a beginner, you say you are teaching yourself by what media are you using for teaching

Keep it up this is wonderful,

Gloria.

Judes, the mono was done with burnt umber and white, just those blended. The efect is great and so much easier than colour.

Stunning! I would love to be able to paint and draw. The Monochrome is so different and I would be happy to put it in my home. I think you will sell them easily.

Thanks Pam. I too like the mono ones. Its only small, about 6 by 4 inches, but i think it will frame up nice if it ever dries.

Hi Libby. Im an outdoor girl too which is why i paint landscapes, i have never been crafty as an indoor type ect, much prefer outside getting hands dirty. I have always admired landscape painings done well by good artists and just thought, stuff it im gunna have a go.
The books and vids make it so easy, you just follow their directions and hope it turns out. When i started the colour one it was a disaster. I just kept working it and it turned out ok.
Just have a go. You never know.

I just might take your advice and 'ave a go ...... Nothing like a bit of comic relief to trigger some inspiration .... Stay tuned to comic corner.......

now, i have always been fascinated by aboriginal art and its significance, so perhaps next trip to the outback i will leave some non essential stuff (like Charlie' beer) at  home and take the paints "in loo of'

Although I am not a crafty person, I do recognize and appreciate talent when I see it in others, which is why this forum interests me.

I often wonder if I applied myself what I could come up with. i have been a girl guide leader for over 30 years and people cant believe i have no artistic abilities as lots of people think craft is what they do mostly!  Guess that's why I enjoy camping and the outdoors And that has been my focus and skills base.

you have, however,  inspired to checkout the How To books and see if I have underestimated my potential!

Libby

One thing i have learnt is that while wr are still living we can try what ever takes our fancy, if we are no good at it, it dosnt matter as long as its fun and keeps the brain going. We will never know if we are any good until we try.
Thankyou all for your encouragment. Ill keep at it and see how it goes.
Now scrap book is something i just cant do, have tried and just dont have the imagination to create it. Ha ha. Much easier to paint off what i see in front of me.
So many very tallented nomads, i guess it just takes time to find that thing to do. Its taken me all my life to get started.

Chaslib every one has a talent sometimes you just have to try a few things before you find it. Some sew ,cook or garden. I hate cooking but love my garden.

I used to sew all my clothes ,even lingerie but I didn't really enjoy it. Gave it up and years later started folk art classes, it was just someone's else's idea at tennis and we all went just for the heck of it. I was the only one who kept it up and loved it. From there I did patchwork and sewing dolls for our grand daughters. I am not good at some things like embroidery.

Camping is one of our favourite hobbies. Baz doesn't have a hobby except EBay ha ha but he loves talking to and watching people,so I guess that is a hobby of sorts.

Fantastic feehazzas. Glad you're still exploring your talent. Did you enjoy oil or acrylics more? Have fun. They're great.

I think i like oils better, but being in a van full time travel i just wont be able to get them dry. They can take months to dry depending on paint.
I am working on an acrylic one now but using thick gesso to try to imitate oils a bit, but dry in a day, not weeks.

You certainly have a flair for painting. Won't be long and you'll be selling them to pay your way around Australia!
