Plan A was to go to Bonshaw Weir some 20kms from Texas, Camps6 #161 indicated that there are toilets available. It is a nice spot on the weir with covered tables and seats but no toilet.
Plan B was to go to Wells Weir a further 37kms on towards Ashford but once again a nice place to camp but with no toilet and again Camps6 #265 said that there were toilets.
Getting a bit pissed off by this time and went to my next planned stop at Bundarra Lions Park Camps6 # 161 and at last found everything in place with flushing toilets. So I am on my third planned camp after Texas moving faster than expected and have phoned Obrien's and set up an appointment for Monday at 2pm to get the new windscreen.
Expect to stay here until Saturday morning allowing 2 stopovers before the Obrien's appointment in Tamworth on Monday, will see how that plan works. John
The restless wanderer. Where do you get your energy from?
Gday...
AHA - that's the secret Gary. When ya travelling like John (and many of us full-timers) you gain energy rather have it sapped.
The lifestyle makes ya feel younger, fitter, happier, healthier, energetic and relaxed at the same time. You too will enjoy this when you hit the road.
Cheers - John

Absolutely - on the road you just can't wait to see what's around the next corner - we wake up every morning and ask each other, what adventures will we have today??!!!
John - sounds like a plan - be good to see you soon - will cook a roast, I think in your honour!!!!!

Thanks Jules you know how much I like your roasts.
Friday evening and have decided to stay another night, just been talking to a camper who had just been to my next destination stopped for half an hour looked round to find that it was in a hollow full of dust with no flat areas to camp so he moved here and said it was paradise compared with Uralla Fossicking Area Camps6 #163. I will set off on Sunday to drive to Bendemeer only 50kms away from Tamworth making an easy trip in for my 2pm appointment.
Gary, energy is one of my greatest assets when I want it is always there but I can turn it off and go to sleep just as easily. Lucky me!!!!!!!!!!!! but it is all to do with positivity.
I wonder if that's the same spot at Bendemeer I camped with a mate back in 1961. I seem to remember those round boulders in the river. We panned for gold as well and I collected a bit in a match box. You could see the specs of gold in the sandy bottom. It was all very Huck Finn back then. A neighboring camper shared her kangaroo tail soup with us - bush tucker that tasted much better in the bush than it did back home in the burbs so I discovered to my horror.
As to the lifestyle making you feel more energetic, yes, I can believe that. Always something new to see and do. Inspiration works wonders.
Another wonderful spot John. I am cross with myself that I did not take pics of Charlton last night. Another great spot, there is a free camp or where I camped for $15 with water and power. I pulled in a little too soon before I seen the free camp in the middle of town.

I did the same here and decamped as soon as I noticed the sign with the price, it was a Lions Park in the town and I was looking for a Lions Park just outside. Must read Camps more thoroughly. John
