Semi ready to roll...

Hitched up, couldn't  get chock out from the wheels, it had settled into the gravel. Got there eventually. Power Is working. Electronic brakes weren't. Just kept reversing, driving forward etc. they came on In the end and are working now. That freaked me out a bit! Glad I didn't shoot down the driveway and around the block before I realised.

cant fill the water tanks, the camber down towards the tanks won't allow it. sesrched this forum, someone suggested opening tap on a frame as well as the kitchen tap. Never thought of that. . I'll try that in the morning. Can't leave til 10.30 tomorrow at earliest due to fitting in with van inspection re awning that needs fixing etc.  ah well.

Rang a cv park to see cost for tomorrow night. Just thought it would be easier to be in cv park so I could fill the water tanks and check everything on the flat. Nope, no dogs in peak season they said. Ah well, will free camp. Should have enough water in the tanks for a quick shower. And plenty in the car for drinking.

tried the dogs on the back seat today, with seat belt harnesses in case of sudden braking. The Labrador opted to lie on the floor on the way home. Bugger that she said. She hates harnesses, woulda made a lousy guide dog....

but got firewood n stuff in the rear, so I guess she will have to learn to adapt.

had a panic that the car fridge wasn't working. Then I remembered to plug it in. Blond moment, clearly.

Hey Doug,
Apparently in Vic we are. Was Nagambie, only 2 cv parks, the other doesn't take dogs. I was just trying to plan ahead, cos I may held up in repair place and not leave til late. It was one of the big4 parks, so a heads up to anyone else out there.
As I haven't used van in a while, I'm a little anxious. She'll be right!

Not your day today. But I did notice a sense of humor running through the thread.

Some places won't take dogs in school holidays but all states have now gone back to school. Re filling the water tanks we always turn the tap on over the sink and it does work.

Go girl it will all work out.

Just don't panic and relax and work it out as you seem to have done with the brakes so you will be OK.

I have those blond moments too, Triple, and I'm not even blond! Just back from my first shakedown and glad I'm not the only one who's learning the ropes. Gotta have a sense of humor, for sure hehe. They keep saying it'll all be worth it in the end.

Well Gary....
Another blond moment today.....
Couldn't get gas to work for the fridge or the stove.... Switching bottles etc, running back n forth. Had a chat to Jules, then another lady.
Then I remembered a switch! Doh.
However, epic fail on hot water. It's making the right noises but cold water only coming out.
Will worry about it tomorrow. I'll take a cold shower for one night. But only one night (she says, bravely!!) hope I don't eat my words

Do not know what sort of hot water you have but if its a Trauma system then you need to remove the cover off the exterior breather.
