Love it Dunmowin.

It suits what I want, and there's no sewing etc.

I have a repetitive strain injury from crocheting right now, and can't really knit or chrochet etc, and this rug is exactly what I was loooking for.

Now, to clear the linen cupboard or hot the charotuy shops for old sheets!

I started the one from your link, Dunmowin, but couldn't gey it right, so I did a braided one.

1 double bed sheet and 2 doona covers recycled.

Let's see this get muddy and dunked in a creek!

that mat looks wonderful Rosie, no stitching, I thought you braided / plaited it and then stitched it together

Yes, I couldn't make the woven one work for me.

I can't knit or crochet till this elbow strain thing clears up, but the stitching only uses fingers and wrists, and I'm ambidextrous with the needle!

I'll be so happy when this elbow thing clears.

Found another pattern yesterday which uses "amish knots" which I might try.

I made my own 'tool' out of a bit of coathanger.

I am addicted lol and have even sold 2! They are so easy!

Old sheets, doona covers, shirts, skirts etc. Anything goes!

They are beautiful, wanderone. I love your "tool" and would like to know how to make one - I an getting a very sore finger lol.

My plan is to have a few in the van to protect the floor and carpets against mud ! Last time I had to use old towels on the floor after the rain kept falling and the mud got worse everywhere. Then I was stuck with all the wet muddy stuff till I got home really, as no van park would like it going into their machines. yuk!

I just want something I can dunk in a trough, creek or bucket, but beautiful helps.

Easy peasy Rosie!
Just cut about 4 inches of wire coat hanger and bend in half making a 'loop' as in my first picture.
The material just threads through the loop like through the eye of a needle!
You do need to make sure that the wire at the bottom of the loop is touching.
The loopy bit is what is pushed through the material.
Hubby made 3 or 4 for me and I now have my 'favourite' :)
