First timers

Hello everyone, this is our first post.

We are just about to start our Grey Nomad experience and so have joined this forum for tips, tricks and recommendations.

We are looking at purchasing am 05 Jayco Heritage van 23ft as our first van, we will be towing it with our 2013 Isuzu DMax.
Does anyone have any experience with these vans.
We are established campers but just pretty much over the tent thing. Our tent was nicknamed the Whitehouse as it has a West Wing, East Wing North wing and an entertainment area. It has two 3 burner stoves, sink, cupboards and an elevated Queen size bed.
This used to take us an hour to set up and now we are just over it especially if its raining when we get to where we are going.

The Jayco looks just like what we want and the price is pretty good. We like the twin lounges and full ensuite. We are just wonder if there is anything we should look out for.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to reading your experiences.

Welcome to the gang Mark and Deb, enjoy here and out in the playground.

The only thing I would suggest if it is not already set up for is, make sure you get some solar power happening but make sure the 12v wiring is up to scratch and of heavy duty standard. Once that is done start free or alternative camping, opens up a new world of fun and games in the playground and I tell you that for free.

Thanks Doug, we already use free sites as I am into flying model aircraft (40 plus years) and stay on the field whenever possible. Solar power is my next project as I know bugger all about it and would like to know what its used for and how to use it.

Mark.

Welcome MarkandDeb - plenty of info on here re solar power - it is used to power the house batteries in your van/motorhome/fifth wheeler - lots of discussion in the Technical subforum - use the "search" button at the top of the page to look for info - just put "solar power" in and a wealth of info will be yours for the learning!
Enjoy!
