I guess most people would go to the mentioned Website and take their advice,

or be prepared to bunker down in a safe place.  disbelief

Just checked the weather radar @ BOM, looks like theres some very heavy rain up there already. Not a good place to be in a caravan...

My man on the ground up there says it is drifting away to the SW where it will weaken a fizz out.

Let's hope he's right..

Most people that live in those areas subject to cyclones would have done most of pprep work by the end of oct , mid nov. We are back in Tassie ATM but still have the van set up in Broome, still with the annex setup with extra tie downs. Have a mate ready to lower it if we go to yellow. At the end of the day though we have winds where we camp in Tassie often in excess of 100kmh and don't pull annex awning or supended tarps down, just learn to rope them better.

Merry chrismas to all

cheers

Glad you're out of harms way and hope your van will be ok if it crosses over!
