does every one know about bundabergs council ticket writer?????You can get up to 500.00 fine for free camping round there the council has two men permanently employed especially for the job!!..I happen to live there plus i have a motor home so be carefull everyone....i feel it is sad think of the revenue the town would have got and they need it....
Two years ago I wrote to EVERY council member, personally knowing a couple, explaining that the money from GNs will certainly bypass Bundy. I did not receive one reply! Bundaberg was our home since 1883 & am ashamed of the attitude. Council, at that time, owned 3 of the van parks. We left there in 2006 & fortunately we have rellies to park with when we do return there. I urge members to get onto council web site, get the councillers names & write to them all immediately as I intend doing. I have even named towns welcoming free camping on the outskirts.
Well isn't it amazing how rumours start. I have lived in Bundaberg for 30 years and have never heard of of $500 fines for camping overnight. The only parking inspectors are for the CBD where they have timed parking zones like many other towns and the fines for infringement are no where near $500.
While Bundaberg is not the most RV friendly town in Australia with regard to camping facilities outside caravan parks there are several camp sites in the area which are used regularly and they do have a dump point in town.
I hope they have a sign at the town entrance to advise us GN so we can continue through.
A town with a negative attitude to us staying on their area get no money from me, not even fuel as I mark the town in my camp book as well as I have a file in my GPS and as I enter the town it gives a warning so I know to continue through.
You can enter the towns into a spreadsheet and then add to your GPS and then use the manual distance option and put in the largest area you can get. This way you have a warning before you enter the town.
I prefer to not go to QLD anyway and keep my travels below the NSW / QLD border.
I know many of the GN working within Blazeaid prefer to not go to QLD when doing voluntary work due to the attitude of many of the QLD towns and councils.
Regards
Brian

Bundaberg Council also own Moore Park Caravan park near Bargara. You cannot book there unless you produce a vaccination certificate for your dog. I thought we defeated tne Nazis. Seems they are alive and well ensconsed in Bundy Council.
"It is mandatory in Australia to vaccinate your dogs. The vaccination policy not only protects your dog from the viruses, but all other the dogs in your community."
Is the requirement not to drive after consuming a certain amount of alcohol Nazism?
Is the requirement that cars must undergo annual roadworthiness checks (NSW) Nazism?

So protecting dogs from diseases in your mind is the equivalent of killing millions of people? That is some stretch. Lots of caravan parks require vaccination certificates for dogs, sensible people want to keep both their own and other peoples dogs safe.
I'm not getting the hate for Bundaberg, the majority of places have fines for people illegally parking and they do have some choices in free/low cost camping available. Free there is the Lions Park and low cost there is the CMCA park, plus other choices a bit further out of town. This is more than many coastal towns.
