We have a few already arriving at the beginning of February (1st onwards) and some a bit earlier so keep this in mind if travelling south of Perth in that area. Free camp and picnic area with good toilets, but no showers or drinking water, lake water ok for clothes/shower tanks etc. No power. dogs on lease ok. BBQ facilities and bins. Walk path around lake (just over 1 km total).
This short video of the area is well worth watching, the dam is full of long neck turtles though so I wouldn't bet on trout being there, but who knows, there may be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBiXftjIRqo
The camping area is also on the national toilet map.

I notice on this Cuballing Council site they say it is an RV friendly town (dump point ?) however their main water stand pipes either need a card to operate them or are locked. I would assume that tap water could be purchased in town, however I would be inclined to fill up at home or elsewhere before going to the dam or take plenty of bottled water for drinking.
Thanks for setting the date as a marker for us to work by Bryan, should be a good GTG!
Anyone wanting to do the night tour of the Barna Mia Sanctuary (book via Narrogin Tourist Bureau by phone) it is only open for tours on certain nights and number for the tour are limited so you need to book early to get in, at least two days in advance or more.
Main access roads are bitumen, but roads in the Dryandra Forrest are good gravel to the sanctuary, guide will put out signs to help people find it, maps etc online or can be obtained from Narrogin Tourist Bureau.

Hmmm, I don't want to be a stickler for detail BUT if one were to travel south west of Perth for 184k's a rather watertight van or perhaps a boat would be needed?

the segment did mention Barna Mia Sanctuary, it was shown on the map also, I think Barna Mia Sanctuary is the only one open to the public as you suggested.
I must have missed that bit Wombat, probably closed my eyelids temporarily, he he!
We stayed a couple of days at Dryandra Village in a cabin and saw a very large black feral cat, reported it and got an email to say it had been trapped and disposed of.
I'll be there on Friday 31st January, Sat 1 and Sun 2nd Feb at this stage not sure if staying longer.
We are staying at the Laze Away CP 10 kms north of Yornaning Dam on Gt Southern Highway and will be doing a daily commute to the GTG for those three days, may camp at the Dam later if we stay longer.
See this link for the Laze Away, $25 per night powered, $20 tent site. Nice clean ablution block. Dogs allowed. No internet or mobile coverage.
Oh, sorry I hadn't seen the deposit into my bank account. Will verify that the money has gone in and all will be good.
Really don't mind being your mate this week as I could do with the extra $ to go towards the new solar on the van.
sorry to disappoint you but there is NO PAY
solar is great, had it on our van now for over 12 years, I also managed to override the CEO of Funding & Allocations and had solar installed on the roof of our hole, have not had an electric bill since.
