Long time not active, here I am!

Hi All,

i joined sometime ago but still hadn't fully decided to go with it. But now I've done it! I have finally bought ( in the process of being converted) a Hino RH160. I have been back and forth as to whether to buy a Mobile Home or a Motorhome on my return to Australia (still not back yet). But never having lived in one place for long, I knew the mobile home wouldn't work.

However, having finally retired, and tired of overseas travel with all it's cultural miscommunications, airports and visas, I just want now to see my own country. As I read the forums etc., of life on the road, country towns, isolated spots, gatherings of other Motorhomers, I am more convinced this is now for me at this time of life.

i am looking forward to crossing paths with many of you and learning this new way of living With all it's challenges.

i expect to be underway mid to late March. As seen by my username, I am a Solo Traveller, always have been.

Vern

Welcome - hope your enjoy your travels in this great land, Vern.

What is your definition of Mobile Home - as against as motorhome? Do you mean a caravan? Just curious.

Maybe they are a called something else.  One of those small permanent homes in a residential park where you drive in a gate usually. Like many up and down the East Coast. My cousins live in one. Nice for them, but not for me. Same neighbours, lots of rules.

Exactly - if we don't like the neighbours or the view - we change it!!!! And I call them transportables.

Aha! What you call a Mobile Home, I call a Relocatable or Demountable. Yeah, I agree with your choice!
