Solo Steve has a new Home

Yep, I have a new Motorhome, a 1988 Coaster 6 cylinder diesel LWB. It's in great condition and went very well on the

120k trip back to nelson Bay. Only problem was the fuel gauge is faulty, the Lady I brought it from said that the tank

was more than half full. You guessed it out of fuel on the way home and it took a couple of hours to get it going again

as we had to bleed the system of air. Lucky my mate who is a diesel mechanic was with me as without him I would still be there.

I need to make some modifications to the house power system before I can get back on the road but otherwise has most of what

I need.

Looks great Steve. Now if you would like decorating tips, you will have to wait for Mrs Kiwi to come back to Australia and we will be able to avail you of our services.

Seriously, congrats on the new house. Well done.

Excellent news. Think of all the dinner parties you can have. I'll get my dinner suit out of mothballs.

Shut the front gate!!

That looks just great Steve, real happy for you. If you get a chance, some inside pics would be good to see.

I reckon you will be very comfy in the new beast. I like the "Bugger" on the back.

Does look a nice clean unit, as far as the fuel gauge goes, that should be an easy fix, ? If not do what I used to do with a falcon ute I used to have, ONLY TRUST THE TRIP METER, work out how many k's you get to a tank ?? then keep  a reserve figure up your sleeve ? Then fill up at that given figure ?? ''IE'' if you set your trip meter at every fill, and you get 450 k from a tank, make sure you fill again once you exceed the 300 k

Wombat ? I know our Mate contract has expired today hmm But your comment to Dougwe was biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Very nice Steve. So pleased for you. Many happy travels and plenty of space in that one.
Myrtle had a faulty fuel gauge too but thankfully the other way round. When it said empty and I refilled would only take about 40 litres on a 58 litre tank, so I always knew I had some in reserve but never drove once the gauge got close to empty.
You will work out a system that suits you.
Congratulations, see you up north.
