Deepwater Inn Near Glen Innes

Had an interesting day yesterday leaving Bundarra and arriving in Glen Innes just as the post office opened at 9am and the inverter was there after having been sent on from Frankston. Just down the main street was a Leading Appliance Store and as luck would have it they stocked a Sharp Microwave oven 750 watts. Met up with Rod there and had a Maccas breakfast before heading off to Beardy Creek our planned next destination.

We thought that it was a good overnight stop but not a longer stopover so we continued north to Deepwater.Stopped at Deepwater Inn for a couple of days, $5 per night for power, $5 per shower, clean toilets and amenity areas with washing machine, good camping area and cafe facilities. Overall a good spot for a couple of days, we drove and looked at a couple of other campsites listed in Wiki but a bit too bushy for me in my beautiful coaster, lacked toilets too a definite downer.

Getting back to the inverter and microwave oven, we installed the inverter under the bench over the generator and Coleman then wired it into the cranking batteries. The theory being that when I wanted to use the inverter I would start up the bus engine then fire up the inverter and then the microwave. The plan worked well and I used the microwave for a few minutes.

Have decided to move on tomorrow and will end up back in Queensland before the day is done.              John

Running the engine while using a micro. Now there's a thought. I love the pic of that old country store too... looks very inviting.

Gary the store, which is actually the accommodation part of the old pub (on the left of the photo) that was burnt out some time ago now. The 'new' pub is up behind there and the camping ground near it also. I see that a café has moved into that part at the front. Deepwater is a little town right on the highway - they have a scarecrow festival during the year. There are a few shops - not sure how many.
