ALERT LEVEL: A bushfire EMERGENCY WARNING - NOT SAFE TO LEAVE remains for people in an area bounded by Armadale Road, Tapper Road, Beenyup Road, Rowley Road and Taylor Road in Banjup in the City of ****burn and Forrestdale in the City of Armadale.
You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes. The alert level for this fire remains at Emergency Warning level. It is not safe to leave.
The fire started between Taylor Road and Nicholson Road. It is burning towards Aubin Grove and Atwell.
BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR: The bushfire is moving fast in a westerly direction. It is out of control and unpredictable. Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home. Flames are higher than roof tops.
WHAT TO DO: It is too late to leave, leaving now would be deadly. You need to shelter in your home and actively defend it. Go to a room away from the fire front and make sure you can easily escape. Choose a room with two exits and water such as a kitchen or laundry. You must shelter before the fire arrives, as the extreme heat will kill you well before the flames reach you. Protect yourself by wearing long sleeves and trousers, made from cotton or wool, and strong leather boots. If your home catches on fire and the conditions inside become unbearable, you need to get out and go to an area that has already been burnt.
ROAD CLOSURES: Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site. A number of roads have been closed including: Nicholson Road in both directions from Armadale Road to Rowley Road in Forrestdale Rowley Road southbound off ramp closed at Kwinana Freeway Russell Road southbound off ramp closed at Kwinana Freeway Taylor Road Gibb Road Drivers should avoid Kwinana Freeway southbound, after Berrigan Drive, due to heavy smoke.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING: Approximately 200 career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Department of Parks and Wildlife firefighters are on the scene. Representatives from WA Police, the City of ****burn, the Bureau of Meteorology and the State Emergency Service volunteers are also on site. Aerial support has been sent to protect crews and homes.
EXTRA INFORMATION: The fire was reported at 12.12am today and approximately 300 hectares have been burnt. Telephone text and voice messages have been issued to Banjup, Forrestdale and Aubin Grove. The cause of the fire is unknown. DFES is managing the fire.

I agree with you 110% Tony,
As I write this, the Fire Brigade has just screamed past our door, looks like they have another one.
Being an ex-fire-fighter, I have been to many fires and a great percentage of those were deliberately lit,
it sure is frustrating to get one fire under control, and then receive a message saying that there is another one, just started a couple of clicks away.
A few years back I was called from work at around 2.15pm on a Friday, I returned home in the late afternoon of the following Monday,
We attended seven fires, one after the other, What would we have done with that Firebug if I got the chance, !!!
It would not have been pretty,

From Coast to Coast, We'll see it all.......One Day
Another one today end of our street or as the crow flys 3klms away. Water bombers and helitankers did an amazing job. We were at yellow alert Bushfire - Watch and Act- leave now or be prepared to stay and defend. What was amazing was the amount of phone calls we received to ask if we were OK and did we need help to pack & leave and offers to stay til things settled down. It was lovely to have so many offers of help.
Its not the first time and I doubt very much it will be the last.
From the DFES site: The cause of the fire is suspicious. I can only hope if there is an arsonist out there they catch him/her before its to late.
Glad you and your neighbours were all ok Cathy, some of these low lifes that start these things need to be roasted alive themselves as punishment IMHO !
