I have nearly finished this quilt for our caravan. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Unfortunately I made a mistake in the quilting along one border and, although you can't see it, I know it is there so out it comes to be redone. We are leaving on Sunday for the winter migration, so I'll finish it as we go.
What a lovely job you have done on your quilt. You shall be the envy of all of us on the road.
You mentioned about the mistake, I used to get all hot and bothered about mistakes I made in my needlework - well with Nanna hanging over your shoulder and telling you to pull it out, and if you didn't she would!! Well .... over the years I have learnt with the help of a lovely craft teacher that like the beliefs of the Amish people, no one here on earth is perfect, so if you have a mistake, accept the fact that there is a more perfect 'one' than us!!!! And as Molly said, no one else would know.
Enjoy your lovely quilt!
Edit: I now thoroughly enjoy whatever needlework I do as there is no pressure on me.

Brenda your quilt is lovely, it is a similar pattern to my first quilt.
I know what you mean about not being right, if you know it's there you just can't stop seeing the fault even though nobody else sees it. As Pejay says nobody is perfect only God. I am a Virgo and people who are Virgoes are a real pain in the butt. Everything has to be right. My first teacher told me she did a class once with several Virgoes attending. She said it was a nightmare with them unpicking every few minutes and holding the process up. I have now learnt to let go a bit and not try and be so perfect.
Thanks for all your comments. I will still unpick it and do it again. There are plenty more imperfections in the piecing of the quilt, but I am a Piscean so they will stay there. Alan is a Virgo Pam so I know exactly what you mean. Brenda
I as like Brenda have a quilt like Brenda but my very close friend made it for my 60th birthday and I actually cried when I opened the package ,it was so beautiful.i will try to attach a photo of it if I can.
nope I can't but it takes pride and joy on our bed in our home on wheels
Brenda,
I find it interesting that you have machine pieced and handquilted your quilt.
I am just finishing the binding on my first ever quilt - single bed size. It has been totally done by hand - over 5 years!! But it is the first and last I will ever hand quilt, for sure. Quite happy to do the piecing and other sewing by hand, but the quilting will be by machine - or by someone else doing it for me. Just couldn't get the hang of it. Finished up with a ganglion on my wrist that doctor had to drain, from it. How do you manage it?
