Swag to a Motorhome - very new at this....

I am currently retired (forced into it) and my wife, The Good Sort, is still a working girl and enjoying it. We have been motorbike adventurers until an accident bought that to a grinding halt some 12 mths ago. Have been coping in a double swag and 4x4 ute for nearly 12 mths now, but have discovered not all that user friendly for us.

Just paid a deposit on a new motorhome & collect it in September. A whole new experience for us and adventure we simply have no idea about. Obviously with The Good Sort still working we will do many weekend trips and school holidays before working up to several months on the road once someone else retires!!

Looking forward to continuous reading of the forums to find hints and advice etc to make our new life rewarding and a lot easier.

Michael & The Good Sort.

Welcome to the gang hard1mic, enjoy here and out in the playground.

You will learn heaps of interesting and useful ideas on this great forum and I tell you that for free.

As for the "Good Sort" mate, keep an eye on her around here cos there is a feral wombat that lurks in his hole and grabs the ankles of "Good Sorts" as the move through the forum. He's only jealous cos I have the Nulla Nymph Twins (See my AV) smile

Doug,
Have done plenty of reading on the GN Forum before 'jumping in' & have noted wombat prints & the friendly banter that takes place. The Good Sort and I are looking forward to a long association with with other GN's & all positive thus far.

Welcome to the forum hard1mic. Just made redundant myself and decided to retire .Still do not have cv/motorhome but participate in the forum and totally enjoy it . It has great info and really good people with lots of good ideas. I wish you well with your C/V OR M/H purchase and I hope you have lots of great travel experiences. I am sure you will.

Nomad hours of course. 10 to 12 with one hour for lunch. Quick but incorrect figure is that we work only have to work 2 weeks until we turn 80. I can handle that I think..

Thanks all for the welcome and support.
Was the Government that made me 'retired' so guessing the chance of me being employed again until 70 or 80 are very slim indeed.
Apprehensive about what lies in front of us with a motorhome etc, but will maintain contact with GN Forum for lots of advice & tips to help make the transition from a swag much easier....
Michael.

Hey Dougwe that Nymph needs a bit of "hurry up" as she's taking her time emptying that porta potti cassette. I know, as been waiting for her return trip like a few others, I'm sure....lol

And a happy welcome to you both hard1mic, enjoy

The Good Sort and I have just received the good news that our new motorhome is on the way to the dealer and we should take delivery in the next ten days or so.
Finally that swag can go into 'mothballs' and we can travel and sleep in some comfort. Been a long time coming but not long now and we can start our own adventures and find great places to go and people to meet along the way.
