Starting Out Advise

Hello everyone, I am looking at purchasing a caravan and travelling on my own, well with two little dogs really. Any advise on must haves, best type of caravan and the real cost in traveling would be appreciated. I am hoping to get as much information as possible from those that are actually out there before committing to a purchase. I am looking at long term, maybe forever travel.   thank you all in advance

Welcome to the Gang maggieap, enjoy here and out in the playground.

When it comes to vans etc it's really a personal choice thing but I have the Avan Camper and am in the process of deciding if to upgrade to a van and also update my 1998 Toyota Prado tug. I will sell base camp first though. That's the biggest decision.

With the van you will have to spend money to save money. I mean, set up a good battery and solar power system, onboard toilet and shower then "Free/Alternative" camp. That's the saving bit.

Get yourself a copy of "Camps Australia Wide", "Caravan Parks Australia Wide" and a copy the "Wikicamps" for your smartphone or laptop etc. Armed with all that you can have the best time of your life.

Good luck with it all.
