newbies as well...

biggrin Hi all, The two of us have juist retired and living in our van in Victoria Gippsland  at a friends place after coming across the paddock from WA. We are in the process of making sure we have done everything before we leave but would appreciate some input as to what to do with mail...we will be on the road permanently and am not sure what happens with it. I am going to the post office on Monday to check but decided to ask here beforehand. We are both looking forward to joining the GM's on the road and hope to meet up with some of you while trundling around this great country. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Thanks Ann Hope we meet you on the way round. Love you puppies. We lost ours just before we left WA. He was a border collie and passed on 2 days before his 14th birthday. Would love another but we will have a rest first as we have never been without dogs/cats etc. Cheers, Janine & Hilton

Welcome to the gang twoblackducks, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I am currently in the playground staying at my daughters in Townsville, Q'land. Base camp is Sth West Gippsland, Vic, in a village but that will change to being in the playground full time and no base camp when I get back later this year so will be looking at all that "stuff" as well soon.

Good luck with it all.

Who knows Janine and Hilton, maybe we will meet second time around.

My first dog got me into caravaning, he travelled with me from 6 weeks till his 18th birthday. He died 4 weeks after his 18th birthday. I have a lot to thank him for.  He was also a poodle!

Janine and Hilton, Wombat is a wombat and a very naughty one at that, he only Travels underground so maybe if you see his entrance hole, just fill it in biggrin he also is continuously trying to nymph nap the twins.

what happened at our meet was, there was a gang of GN's at Greens Lake in Victoria and Mrs w and I flew across to meet them all, after arriving in Victoria we hired a car to go to Greens and meet the crowd, Dougwe had a 5 hour drive to Greens and then a 5 hour trip back again, we were only there for a few hours but we all enjoyed ourselves.

Dougwe asked me to make him an AV with the twins in it, I refused but I see he has now got somebody to do it for him.

Bit late, But welcome from us as well Janine and Hilton.
We too get out and about in our family car and meet nomads.
Do not have a van or motorhome as yet. We have met several GNs.
Travelled to Greens lake at Easter in 2013. The nomads we met there have been our friends
eversince,Although we hardly ever see them we call them friends. Met Dougwe at Greens Lake and became very good friends
Have not met wombat as yet but get along real well through the forum and emails.
We travelled to Tassie in February this year and met several GNs while there.
get in and enjoy the forum, nicer people you will not meet. be very careful of wombat.hahahaha.
As I said Welcome to the forum.

Mongrel.

What is this distemper .You did not get it from me Dougwe.

I have also heard you can get it from wombats.

Hi Mongrel, Thanks for that info. We are about to start off on our endless trip from Heyfield where we have been staying on friends property after coming across from WA where we lived for 10years. Had to sell due to loss of work and money so I wanted to caravan again as I loved it when we went from Qld (15yrs) across the paddock to WA. Originally from NSW but have been travelling for a long time and want to go again. Had a look at Greens Lake as we don't know Vic very well but it is the ideal place to plant oneself for a few days and relax. We are stopping at Shepparton beforehand and want to go across to Mildura put the rh blinker and up up and away to the Alice. Rh blinker again and across the top of Qld and down the coast. Time is not of the essence but would like to be back here by November as my hubby has to have a medical before he can get his licence renewed. He is a mechanic and linehaul driver so hope to find at some work while we are away. Would love to meet up with you, wombat, dougwe and others. Nothing better than being in good company...thanks for the info and will keep in touch.

Cheers, Janine & Hilton
