Buchanan Highway

Hello All,

Has anyone of late travelled the Buchanan Highway with a caravan and could tell me what the condition of this road is like please.

regards Pup

I don't tow a caravan anywhere :) but have travelled the Buchanan Highway a few times.
It is just another gravel road for the most part. Can be a tad stony on the west end from memory. If you are OK with gravel, it will give you no grief with appropriate tyre pressures and speeds.

Jasper Gorge is great and there are good campsites there.
There is also lots of good exploring to be had in the Gregory NP, but mostly without the van.

Cheers,
Peter

Pup, we have just come up the Buntine Hway, which intersects the Buchanan at Top Springs.  The Buntine is in excellent condition, and were told by other campers at Top Springs that the Buchanan was in good condition

Edit:  we did it with a Kedron Caravan, all the others in the park were camper trailers or roof top campers.
