I have an exhaust and chip but not from Berrima. I have used Berrima to install a turbo on our old 100 series and they were very good price wise, excellent workmanship and professional. I doubt they would be any different today.

I bought a DP chip and 3" exhaust from Berrima Diesel for my PK Ranger, I fitted it up myself and find the system quite good although fuel consumption hasn't changed, I seem to have an increase in low down pull and tows our Avan Liam HT with Adventure pack very easily. I haven't been on a long trip yet but has made the Ranger very good to drive. From memory the cost of the chip and exhaust was around $2400. I bought a DP chip because they are Australian made, not made overseas and modified for our vehicles and the people at Berrima Diesel were available to talk to on the phone and knew what they were talking about. I rang another company and asked at what rev range the claimed power increases occurred, but they didn't know anything.

Hope this helps your decision, if you were nearby you could take my Ranger for a drive.

Gday...

I would have thought it prudent, perhaps even necessary, to have the vehicle put over a dyno following the fitting of a chip and modified exhaust system.

I would have thought it was not just a plug in and off ya go sort of thing.

Doesn't the chip and exhaust need to be 'tuned' to the vehicle .. tuned to what you WANT from the modified motor?

Perhaps I am out of date, but I believed last time I sought info regarding this sort of modification that was the advice I was given.

Cheers - John

loulybelle, I fitted a DP Chip to my NT Diesel Pajero about 18 months ago  and am quite happy with the cars performance, it definately gives better low down torque and almost eliminates the turbo lag.

I don't use any more or less fuel than prior to fitting the DP Chip but with a 2500Kg van on it certainly "flattens" the hills out a bit.

I haven't done the exhaust mod but I understand from other users it also makes a big difference.

But for further details regarding my experience with the company you mention in servicing work on my car, I have sent you a personal message as the Forum may not be the place.

Diggings, I can't find any reference in my paperwork to the DP Chip being Australian made , it would surprise me but they are still good.
