Just got an email from Weipa Caravan Park & Camping Ground. They want to let everyone thinking about  travelling to Cape York Peninsula know that the Mareeba to Weipa/The Tip road is open and will remain open for the dry season.  The park says that there have been rumours going around that the road to Weipa and the tip is closed because of the showery weather they've been getting up there … but apparently it hasn't affected road conditions very much at all.
