Hi Cliff
I have toyo 2005 and have initially tried those add on extendors - and found ever time roadtrains or big semis went by, I had to tie a rope to the bullbar to stop them flicking back with passing vaccum. I have the Clearview Chrome Replacement Mirrors
and to put it in a nutshell - they are truely the best... www.clearview.com.au. They are the same cost as replacement Toyo mirrors and do so much more. 10 minutes to fit each side. They fold in when parked, They have 2 individual mirrors, the main mirror operated by your existing electrics, and then Extend to give you such a clear view past the van. All made here in Oz in Victoria. In my opinion they are the ONLY mirrors to have. Would put them on any vehicle I ever tow with. But thats just my opinion.
Cheers

Another vote for Clearviev, I am about to change vehicles and I will have Clearview fitted immediately. The old mirrors that connected to the window and bottom of the door - wrecked the paintwork on the door, continually came loose every time they got damp and scratched the windows to the point they will have to be replaced. The damage caused by these old type mirrors, will be around twice the cost of the Clearview.
Joining this forum has already paid dividends. Read the various comments about the Clearview mirrors, so went for it. Fitted them to my Isuzu Dmax on Saturday. Took less than 30min both sides and LOVE them!
The ease of just pulling them out for towing (see right pic below) is fantastic. Expensive YES!, but think it will be well worth it.
