Anyone want to buy a Jeep (wreck)?

Just saw a reference to this posted on another forum. Pretty funny when you read all the comments... Hope this doesn't offend Jeep owners, to which I send my condolences.. biggrin

This is the best thing that could happen to this piece of rubbish. I owned one too and jeeps are junk I would buy a cheap chinese instead it would be more reliable.

Well in the add, where the little kid says "we're going to need a bigger boat" I think he's referring to the fact that as an anchor, the Jeep his dad just bought is way to big for their current boat.. :)

I had to read that a couple of times because I thought they said Jeep by mistake instead of Dougwe's Prado. Nope, it was a Jeep.

I bought a Colorado, oh what a feeling, Colorado.

Every time I see the Jeep ad on TV where they proclaim, "I've bought a Jeep" I think to myself, you poor buggar.

I think it would have been cheaper for Jeep to but it back. 37 thousand views, plus word of mouth will have cost them many sales.

Not to mention what it has done to teh resale value of second hand cheaps.

I ripped the subframe out of mine under warranty and jeep informed me that the cause was the incorrect towbar that was supplied by them. Consequently it was my fault. go figure. Many other problems as well don't ever expect good service from them either.

Hi 03 Troopy

                 It looks like an old Jeep and it is well known Jeeps had their problems before Chrysler sold out to Fiat after the GFC in 2008.

My word is that they have ironed out most of their previous problems.

While we are bashing Jeeps, have a look at "ohwhatalemon.com.au" to read about the problems with the early 200 series Cruisers.

Toyota has ironed out their problems as well.

at least the cruisers have a chassis. Motor problems are an easy fix. But when the rest of the car is rubbish like a jeep there is no hope. you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear

I just don't understand why people still buy Jeeps.
If you do any before purchase research other than ready glossy pamphlets, you would be turned off Jeeps for ever.

Sorry Gunny, I don't think much of the Fiat product either.
Just last month there was a massive Facebook listing by a guy that had a new 2014 Jeep Compass breakdown and require a tow truck 3 times in the first month of ownership. Same failure each time.
After the Facebook listing went viral, he was lucky that the Dealership offered him a full value trade on another vehicle.
He then bought a top or range Nissan Xtrail.

Remember -
J = just
E = empty
E = every
P = pocket
of cash to keep the bloody heap running.

All just my humble opinion of course.

Thanks for that Troopy. My wife quite likes the new jeeps and as we are looking to replace the 100 series shes been pushing for a jeep. I just showed her this  and I am pleased to announce that jeep is now no longer on the short list.

Looks like she will have to go back to the drawing board again.

Regards

Ashley

Glad to hear your wife listened the petrol ones also have a bad habit of bursting into flames and burning to the ground. Parts and service is very hard also took over 6 months to get replacement seat inserts under warranty.

That web address to ohwhatalemon.com.au doesn't work for me or was taken down, It is funny how a lot of Nomads say they love their jeep as a tow vehicle etc. Time will tell when they start having problems.
