Just one more....

Gday...

I have now shared three of the various 'ravings' I have written over the past few years of my wanderings around this great land.

So I will put this one up and then give you all a rest from them for a while.

Cheers - John

Thanks John, enjoyed the town "before and after" pictures and of course the others.

Love those Apostle (larrikin) birds, they are a laugh a minute.   Talk about squabble etc smile

Look forward to other similar threads when you start doing the next lot....smile

Hi John, thanks for the stories we enjoyed every word, we especially like the camp at the Maranoa river, can you share the name or location, can't find it in anything we have.

 Gday...

Called Fisherman's Rest in Camps 7 QLD site 592 - 26 28 30 S 147 55 42 E

It is 5.5km west of Mitchell - dirt road in but would always be in good nick, can camp on the top of the bank or down on the river (as I did).

Long drop loo but no other facilities. I note in Camps 7 it is now 48hour limit, it was 72hour limit when I was there, but it was patrolled by the local constabulary every afternoon - they were very friendly and as I was there on my own, they said I could stay for longer - ultimately I stayed for six nights. They may be more strict these days.

Some pics to help ya find it praps.

Another good read. Thanks John. That spot on the river looked very welcoming.

Oh John what wonderful photos and stories.
I'm blown away how different the towns were then and how much has changed.
The rock walls and cave you went too are just gorgeous. The rivers...
Please don't stop i'm completely loving your entries.
