1st day southwards

Below is a link to a blog post that I haven't copied to the forum and accounts for why I am at Fred Drew Park

http://yeoeleven.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/change-of-direction.html

Been at Fred Drew Park in Innisfail over the weekend and waiting for the rain to abate, Paul and Hazel (Poppy sore eye) called in Sunday afternoon ready to go to Paronella Park on Monday. My plan is to visit those beaches that I have missed before, and with that in mind I made my first call at Etty Bay. It is not a RV friendly town, the only place to camp is the caravan park but it is a lovely place.

On to Cowley Beach and again the only camping was the caravan park.

Kurrimine was the next stop where there is a caravan park plus a council run camp spot. The best price for no power or hot water was $18. Behind the caravan park is a boat ramp with enough space to camp but not on busy weekends.

Hull Heads was next and this time there was a camp spot organized by the lifesavers and I could have stopped over there for $16 without power.

Tully Heads is a few kms from Hull Heads and again no camping signs abounded.

It was past 4pm by this time and I decided to drive to Bilyana where I knew I could get a free camp.   John

You can do it Fran, there is no danger there and you can book in advance with numbers from the camps book and you would be made welcome.

I was just exploring with no intention of stopping over.

Doug you noticed the blue chair I must admit to being surprised to see the set up on the beach.

Must be getting cold down there in Grafton!!!!!!!!!!!! posting from Lucinda Beach by the sugar conveyor and quite warm!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't, but he likes fishing? Viewing the long conveyor belt instead of beautiful beaches. Not for me.

As far as the two, Lucinda and Taylors, are concerned Taylors wins easily and you can fish there too.

There is a sign up hoping that you caught a Barra whilst you were at Taylors indicating that many have been caught there.

Hope he has fixed the problem under the bus where the dog mangled it.

CYA John

John, this is what happens when you head south mate. I'm sure when I get south of the boarder down Mexico way it will be colder. Never mind, won't be for too long.
