Maybe I am getting lazy......or......

........however I prefer to think that I have changed my life for the better. I am currently at my son's home in Brisbane, living in Miss Daisy out the front. I am trying to get organised to fly to Adelaide this evening and then to Mt Gambier for a few days to check up on my Mum and catch up with family etc. It is all so hard. I am in and out of the front door, up stairs, down stairs, (they live in a queenslander), I  move things from here to go there, put other things here so I can go there, and so it goes on. Packing is something I have not done for a long time, so what to take and how much can I get away with not taking?,

So I have come to the conclusion, life on the road is a much easier and healthier way to live life,  (I already knew this), and living in a house is just plain hard work. Amazing how much I have changed in 12 months. Please do not think that I am ungrateful because I am anything but, however, just another wonderful observation of life and its many changes and differences. And I love it.

Hello Sharon - I am sure you are not being ungrateful but as you say your life has changed for the better. It will be great for you to catch up to your Mum and family then come back, do your house sitting and then on the road again. I think your avatar says it all. Keep well and happy camping.

Gday...

I have been on the road for five years and there is no way I will 'pack a bag' and 'catch a flight/train' and 'visit family'.

If I have to be somewhere because of family, the van comes with me - my lifestyle does not change ... just where I park it.

Then I am completely relaxed, have everything where, and when, I need it AND my own vehicle so I maintain my complete independence when there.

You could cruise home in Miss Daisy in about three "600km/7hour" days without having to change your "lifestyle" at all. As well as retaining your complete independence when you get there.

Feel free to ignore me (most do)  but I really know what I would prefer.

Cheers - John

John, you are completely right. I had a brain snap confuseconfuseand thought it a good idea at the time, and booked flights etc, and now, well I just have to get on with it. Last time though, (or is that famous last words).nonono

It will all be good, I will know everything that I need to know then and the road will be mine once again. biggrinbiggrin

Nelly I love the pic. I had never thought of my grey hairs as being little strands of wisdom. What a wise old woman I was becoming. All gone now though and back to being a blonde.

I agree with John... independence rules. The first thing I noticed about PJ is that everything is almost within arm's reach hehe... no getting up to go to this room or that room. At the moment I'm living in an 8-room house and I reckon I walk several miles a day just getting around the joint. I'd rather walk those same miles through the bush or along a beach.

Cooee - if you use the "quote" button on Pawpaw's post, it will help people see who you are talking to - couldn't work out who Aly was. Just a suggestion. Hit the quote button, it opens a new post with, say, Pawpaw's post on it - you then go down a few lines and do your post, okay?

I don't think you are being lazy at all. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I am flying to Adelaide on Tuesday 9/9 just to look at a caravan, just cos I gotta.

Sharon i completely admire you and hope to be like you so much. I think life on the road is much easier too, we as people complicate things soooo much but on the road... no stresses no worries and happiness. Best of luck on your trip and hope to hear more about your travels :)
