If you look at Camps6 and then open WikiCamps both on Kandanga you would think that they are discussing totally different places. Camps advise self contained vehicles only for 24hours, big rigs and dogs whilst Wiki tells us 72hours, toilets, drinking water 2WD access and all vehicles allowed, phone and internet available, fire places, swimming, fishing, table and seats plus more.
As it happened the driver for Camps was visiting Kandanga and taking photos for Camps8 so they are definitely aware of this site and confirmed for me that Camps8 is being prepared and will be out early next year. Lots of furphies abound expressing the view that camps had been sold to a caravan group who would suppress it, not to be.
Coming from the north there are two ways to get to Kandanga you can leave the Bruce just after Gympie and follow the signs 25kms through the Mary Valley, a beautiful drive, Or you can keep on the Bruce and look for the Kandanga turnoff and if you get to Pomona you have passed it. I did the former at the suggestion of Cruising Cruze and they took the latter because they hadn't used it.
I did some Aldi shopping in Gympie, the first time in Aldi range for months whilst up north so it was good to take advantage of their keen prices. Arrived at Kandanga just after John and Marjoleina and set up for a few days, just later Dennise arrived for an overnight stopover. I had been invited for dinner with J & M and was treated to a full meal and even got takeaway for tonight in the form of surplus chat potatoes ready for me to add peas and a piece of fish and not to forget the white sauce.
There was a massive happy hour near by in a fixed fire grate surrounded by metal seats, was too busy to visit but if it is on tonight I will be there. J & M left this morning and later after a morning walk Dennise departed for more family duties. This is an excellent location and the comments in WikiCamps are glowing in their praise of Kandanga. All the shops and the pub are easy walking distance. John

Hi Sandy,
am heading for the Gold Coast where I have booked into River Gardens Caravan Park at Carrara for a week from Saturday 27th, got stuff to catch up with on the coast.
Expect to be heading towards Greens by mid October. Always happy to meet up with fellow Grey Nomads when we coincide.
Met another character on the road his name is Chris and his website www.thelonesherpa.com he just had his stall at the recent festival near here. He buys his raw product from Nepal where he regularly visits. He makes hats of various styles and sells them on his stall and last weekend sold 35 @ $35 each he has other clothing products but hangs his hat on the hat sales. His coaster is even older than mine but it has a 202 blue motor in it.
I have never owned a hat only the beanie which keeps falling off especially when trying to bend over and do some work, not often you say but enough to be annoying. So I have bought a hat from Chris, not just any old hat but one specially made to to my specifications down to the sloping feather. If you think it looks like one that Laurel and Hardy would wear then you are getting old just by remembering, but you would be right only the red substituted for the black. John
Edited to say that his website is down but he is on Facebook as The Lone Sherpa

The Grey Nomad stickers must work because SCOEY (Steve) saw mine introduced himself and came round to sit by the open fire last night.
Been recognized from the avatar and appearance but never by the sticker.
Steve is off exploring and I am caretaking his caravan, no problems there.
Have just finished washing the awning top and underneath that and the polishing the bus at Dickabram Bridge means I need sunglasses as well as the new hat.
