Premer revisited

Below is a link to the previous visit to Premer with a few more pics.

Well you would think that it would be easy to travel from Quirindi to Premer since there is a highway all the way and I had driven the reverse earlier this year, but no, I took the first turnoff from Quirindi after missing it and going up the Kamiliroi Highway then returning to it. All I needed to do was to drive a little further up the highway to find the turnoff to Coonabarabran.

There was no problem in getting to Premer but took about 20kms longer and was on gravel roads, We ended up in Premer from the top of the township and the first time we saw the correct road was from the camp. Not to worry the roads were dusty but not rutted so I wasn't in too much trouble, neither of us wanted to travel off the black top but it was a long way to back track.

Saturday now and here we are at Premer connected to power and already had hot showers, all good and we expect to be here for another two nights. Planning to set off on Monday to visit Coonabarabran and on to a recommended camp in Binnaway all up around 100kms.    John

Hi John, I went past Premer on Thursday morning and the camp was quite full. It's very popular.

The locals do a great job of looking after travellers and all they ask is a donation to keep the facilities open.

This shire seems to be very welcoming to visitors and have provided a few camping spots around.

hope you enjoy your stay in my part of Australia.

Binnaway's a great camp spot, coins for hot shower and power, shops and pub down the road. Parked near the pump house and surprisingly, not a bad reverse park either.
