We stayed there last night... could have grabbed a drink if I knew a forum member was around.. we are now in Stanthorpe for the night then Brisbane tomorrow.

I would have remembered a beastie like yours.
Try the Old Caves winery on the north end of town.(Stanthorpe )
They do a mean"old tawny port" & their mead is very addictive.
