Episode 2.......

All charged up, stopped at Nhill to have lunch with my Brother and Sister inlaw, headed towards Charlton. Battling the strong crosswind but all was good, once I turned the corner to Warracknabeel, I head a tail wind so even better. Half way between, Warrack and Donald, the alarm went again and I had lost power in Seedling again. I had to pull over, in happened to be in the middle of the only 10k strip along there without phone service.

Onto the CB and asked a couple of truckies for assistance. They were going to contact the RACV for me in Donald. Nobody came along, of course these guys had none of my details. A kind lady pulled up and I gave her all my details to contact them, and she gave them the wrong phone number and membership number so still no luck. Next thing one of the truckies that had heard me pulled up to make sure that I was alright, and wanted to know if there was anyone he could contact. Told my that my Sister and brother inlaw were in Charlton and if he could ring them and let them know that if I was not there by about 7 perhaps send out a search party.

Next thing, I have the RACV guy from Warrack turn up, he had no details but decided to come for a drive to see if he could find me. Then I had my BIL's brother turn up as he has a farm just along there, and they got seedling started again. Stayed with me  to make sure that all was good, and then lo and behold the second truckie pulled in just to make sure that all was good. The two guys had been in contact again and were looking out for me.

After all that, I ended up in Charlton around 8, decided to book into the Travellers Rest ensuite park, $28pn, and it was heaven on a stick. A nice long hot shower, pure indulgence. Usually stay at the CP which is $15pn.

So the bush telegraph worked well, with the RACV guy calling me this morning to make sure all was good, and it is. I have run the car this morning and all seems to be fine and dandy.

So huge bouquets to these wonderful gentleman of the bush and to my inlaws for being the very special people that they are.

I seem to remember a very recent conversation about what we would do if anything went wrong out in the sticks. Seems our faith in our fellow travelers has been proved totally correct. Hope nothing else goes wrong for you. Seems the seedling is being a typical child - causing little headaches and inconveniences!
you will be able to write a 'Towing Manual' soon!!!!!

Looks like we are both having problems Sharon. You with seedling and me with the Chief but we both seem to be getting things sorted at last. Have a good one over the festive season's, well two or more if you like. I will.
