After having no move on calls and the truck noise abated I was awake and on the road as the day was breaking (refer to the post "A day of firsts" if that makes no sense) and after spending 11 hours on the road am now at the Blacksmiths Inn Tavern & Cafe just north of Taree. Camps7 #89 NSW. My trusty bus has averaged 74kph over 1130kms so you can divide the figures to see that I have loafed around buying petrol, eating and sleeping for most of the day.
Have loaded the Camps7 App and used it for the first time, it works very well and gives you the option to include the coordinates with the current journey. A bit like adding another location to the current route, which I have been unable to achieve with this Garmin Nuvi.
The Camps book says a gold coin spent at the tavern allows free camping so I went in and asked where to camp and bought a cup of coffee. Was directed to an area just outside the Tavern property with plenty of grass and flat. They have reasonable meals as well as hot pies etc. and well worth a visit when passing through. Asked when they closed was told late tonight being Friday. The toilets are inside the pub so an early morning visit would be difficult but there is a public toilet sign nearby.
I have been hobbling for a few days now, no big deal but since I will be on the Gold Coast I have booked an appointment for a check up on Monday and will have the toe looked at by a professional. Am keen to see the results of taking MSM and apple cider vinegar, I want a base for the next check up as there will probably be not much change this time. John
