Family obligations, sold the van, but travel is in the blood.  So, on my annual migration to Brisbane, I wanted to see Cape Arid, Goblin Swamp and relatives in Perth, WA.  And I did.  I fitted my car with a spare AGM battery, DC to DC charger, 12V fridge/freezer, solar panel, tent, self-inflating air mattress, camp cot  & personal gear:  This is so I could camp in National Parks for a number of nights.

Cape Arid is magnificent!  Unfortunately it rained the second day so I left.  Cape Le Grande was on my agenda, but it was full; also Shannon NP was closed due to the huge bushfires recently.   But Goblin Swamp is every bit of intriguing as I remember and well worth the stop.

I leave Perth tomorrow (Mon 30th March) for Brisbane, pretty solid driving without any planned distractions but then

It is great traveling again, even only for the short period.  While Ive made my choices, I do envy all of you on the road and other different circumstances

Safe travels all!  Loki

Well done Anton, any chance of seeing you at Wuruma Dam after Brisbane?

John

Hi John,
I'll be at Brisbane until at least September, when I return to Tassie for a qwik visit for end of year stuff - I'll probably fly - then to Brisbane again until just before Christmas. This bit of a detour is because I miss the traveling, really wanted to see WA again and this was the best compromise. Camping with a tent is certainly different than the van - setting up takes a bit longer but what I find is it is so hard to orgainise! Things are packed tightly in the car so it normally involves shifting a lot of stuff to get everything I want out: It is packed for best fit, not convenience! Plus, there is the stuff I will need in Brisbane but not necessarily on the travels! Never-the-less, it got me out a bit and has been great!

Life sounds good for you, the Coaster is certainly ideal for you! Enjoy your travels, hope to catch up again one day.

Anton
