As my username indicates I am a kiwi. My wife and partner, Trish, is from Fremantle, WA. For the past 13 years our grey nomadic life has been aboard our 12m Roberts Spray Ketch, Auspray. We have sailed up and down the Queensland coast, across the top of Australia to Broome, WA, through Indonesia and over the top of New Guinea to the Solomon Islands then back to Australia, back to the Solomon Islands to east Papua New Guinea to Indonesia then Borneo. The past 5 years we have wandered around South East Asia finally dropping anchor in Langkawi, Malaysia. Trish and I have decided it is now time for a sea change, or probably more accurately a land change. We are going to put Auspray up on a hardstand in Penang for 12 months or so, move back to WA, buy a caravan and 4x4 and try a land based grey nomadic adventure. We are certainly going to need heaps of advice making this transition and would love to hear from travelers who have been down this "road" before us.

Life is like a camera, focus on what's important & you will capture it every Time
Kev - great to have another intelligent person (a Kiwi) here to stop the conversation slipping down into the mud LOL
Seriously though - nice to welcome you "on board". We're both Kiwis but had the brain surgery about 15 years ago so now wear black/white/yellow/green. And we're also from Perth.
You'll love vanning round Aust. Take your time and don't spend all day driving. Smell the air and speak to the country folk - they are very friendly !!

Ah Ha ! Bruce and Bev - so you are a pair of pretend West Australians. You can't be called a sandgroper until you have lived here for 30 years. AND you have to renounce your "All Blacks" support too !
