Hi All. We are obviously, from what I have read, and, as the nickname suggests, slow. only joining this club/forum? on Monday.

Both June and I are over 70 and have decided to buy a car and caravan and see this great county, before we aren't allowed.

I didn't know there were so many "Youngsters" running about out there. Who's working in this place now?

The decision is now what to buy. Does anyone have, or know someone with, a Benz ML320cdi after '06. Difficult decision between a 6 cyl Land Cruiser '03-'05 and a ML.,though I expect I may be told differently.

What caravan is another story!

Look forward to meeting a few of you out and about when we get out and about.

Seems like a great sight/forum and I sure I will learn a lot from you all.

John and June

Good on you Robo24. Happy birthday for that day. It doesn't hurt! In the morning after, maybe a bit.

So that means you reckon Tojo is pretty good. Towing a mobile house at that length! I was looking at 20-22 foot.

What sort of economy are you getting if you don't mind me asking?

I would prefer a 6 cylinder petrol or diesel.

Re economy.I endeavour to travel at 2000rpm or 80kph.This gives me from 2.75kol up to around 4kpl.I must say,we carry around 250k plus 2 people and a fat cat.Add to this,6 dozen bottles of wine and 4x30 cans of amber fluid,4.5kva genny, and all the things required for a comfortable trip.11months so far and many more before we see home again in Nth qld.Tare is 2680k.The rest i shudder to think.Happy travels,Peter and Lesley.
