It was my distinct pleasure to finally meet up with Yoeleven John at Wuruma Dam yesterday, following the reading of his blog and forum comments for over a year.
Although I was a complete stranger, who just wandered up, he took the time for a immediate sit down chat and was most informative about various nomad issues such as Internet aerials, Choofer construction and Awning alterations in a pleasant conversation viewing the sunny morning over the dam.
Wuruma Dam is indeed a beautiful spot, though perhaps a little too popular for my taste, though I could be heading back there in a couple of days.
Currently in a new $5 camp in Monto town just up the road, awaiting important mail.
I will try to take a photo or two and write it up in the budget campsites section.
Hope to see more grey nomads out on the road as I am no longer tied to one location any more.
Happy travelling to all, and if you haven't done it yet, take the time to chat with Yoeleven John, who has a wealth of travelling experience.
Good on ya RambleGambol, John is as you say, a real good bloke and a character of the road and full of knowledge. If he doesn't know it, it's not to be known.
Enjoy your travels and if you find yourself in or very close to Townsville before September yell out as I will be here until then. Then heading south.
Keep Safe.
