Weight Distribution Harness

Hi fellow Grey Nomads. I'm an extreme novice in caravanning.  I've recently bought a Goldstream camper trailer & towed it empty with a Holden Crewman. Much to my disappointment there was a lot of swaying as well as up & down movement when it was being towed. Without changing vehicles would weight distribution bars help solve this problem? Also, when I have both the car & camper trailer fully loaded would this also help solve this problem? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Welcome to the gang Pwee54, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I would say once the tug and den are loaded all should be good. Just make sure you don't overload either and distribute weight as evenly as possible. Try to keep some weight on the tow ball but under max.

Hi Newbie, This is a user name that will annoy you when you're not a newbie!! I have had the same problem and found great info on the manufactures site for the bars. Also great info for manufacturers on YouTube. I found that the bars helped heaps, (transfer weight to front of vehicle?) but this would depend on load, axle configuration and ball weight. Measure your ball weight and then search the manufacturers sites.

cheers
