Met a mate in Townsville

Met up with Dougwe in Townsville today. Had a tour of the city and a meal down the strand , very nice of him to show me around. Drove up to top of castle hill that looks down on city and to see many other places.  getting Dmax serviced tomorrow then we meet up for lunch on Saturday at a paddys pub .  Thankyou Doug great day

A "paddys pub"?, I'm betting that it's the old Tattersalls Hotel, now the Mollie Molone. (spelling?) My Great grandfather, Sydney Ramage, owned it back in the 20's. Can remember visiting in the mid 50's, his son Sid was running it then. Great old pub!
G/Grandfather was sent as a 12 year old, in 1873, by boat to Rockhampton, to start work as a spare boy on a bullock wagon team. Ended up owning his own teams, then went into pubs.

Thanks Dave, it was good to see you and have a lovely lunch then continue with the sights. Good also to remind ourselves of the good times had at Greens too. After I left Dave at his hiding place to partake in a red or three I had to slave behind a lawn mower. Hope you enjoyed those reds and that extra one you had for me. I did enjoy a nice JD though after pushing the lawn mower around.

See you again Saturday mate.

Oh! They don't serve red at Isuzu mate but you might get a red cordial if you ask nicely.

Hendo, no not the one in town, the other one, although I did think of trying the Leagues club next to the stadium where cowboys hang out.
