I had to replace my boiler last year in a 2010 model. It was leaking through the welded seam. I was on the road and for convenience replaced it with another Truma for $600. I hope a BEST filter when in use and emptying when not in use will prevent it happening again. Should not have happened as the tank is stainless and does not need an anode whereas the suburban needs a replaceable anode. I think we must have had bad ones as I recently went on a rally and at the Q&A session replacing the boiler was one problem that was NOT discussed.
I sent an email to Dometic Head office in Melbourne with regards our Split and leaking tank and they were reasonable in supplying a new tank Kit at a good price.
It's worth a try even with your close to 2 yr old unit because with a Cost of Close to $900 for a complete unit they should last longer than less than 2 yrs
Our Truma has a slow leak running out the air intake for the gas burner, have no idea how I am going to get the hot water system out as van seems to be built around it.
