Danger, danger, another newbie!! ;)

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.. :)

I'm here to do some brain-picking, but a bit about me (us) first...

We travelled around the western half of Oz about 16-17 years ago when our son was 4yo, then school and life got in our way, but we are now starting to make plans to hit the road again in the next 5 or so years. We would like to work and/or house sit our way around, and would like a set-up capable to free camp, with solar, etc..

We are both working full time (46 & 51yo) and madly paying off 3 investment units so we can travel on the rental income.

So looking at tow vehicles and vans, hence the brain picking that is about to come your way, lol... :D

Cheers!! :)

Welcome to the gang Blondie69, enjoy here and out in the playground.

You have come to the right place for info and I tell you that for free.

As for your question? Well, it's all a personal preference really. I think you need to think about how you want to move around firstly, Caravan and Tug OR Motorhome or similar. Then take it from there.

Free Camping? Check out "Techies" section of this great forum and look through there including the "Solar" sub section there and you will find heaps of great info.

Keep Safe out there.

And it's welcome from us two 2
Also check out if a 5th wheeler might be a style you like safest way to tow a van quick n easy to hookup n unhook but I my be biased, all depends on what boxes need ticking as your priorities .
Lots of different combinations out there all with advantages and disadvantages in the end it is up to you n your partner to decide we can only help to make you aware of the alternatives avaliable ,
Happy hunting

welcome, think you already received the best advise, look around and find what best suits what/where you want to go. we tow a 17' pop top, with a tent on the roof rack of the ute,  for where the van wont go, but, it all comes down to what suits your plans.

That's a neat idea Harleyjs have been thinking how I could do something like that with mine when I change our 5th wheeler from a turntable hitch to a ball hitch so there will be room in the back for us rekon I will be able to just needs a bit more thinking through .
