Booked into the Carnarvon CP yesterday afternoon. The people around my site were lovely, coming over to help me unhitch Seedling and set me up, and then having a chat about Miss Daisy and my travels etc. All good, met up with friends who had cooked me dinner so I did not have to worry about that, had a good night. Reasonably early night, after retrieving the winter jammies again from the bottom drawer and the land of nod was welcome.
I was awoken at 3 this morning with banging and crashing around me, well at time of the morning that is what it sounded like, particularly after spending the past few weeks out in the never never and surrounded by silence. I'm laying there thinking, what nut job is getting ready to leave at this hour of the morning, only to realise that the noise is coming from my awning. With people talking to me etc, yesterday afternoon, I had forgotten to put my anti flappy thingies on. That will be first on the agenda when day breaks. Silly billy me.
This is a good little spot to stay put for a week. Weekly rate $190, cheapest in town, and then as an added bonus I was given a $10 discount, without being asked, because of being a solo. The park is not the flashest around, however it is clean, and adequate. Power and water included, pets allowed. Apparently a couple of the flasher and dearer parks in town charge extra on top of their rates for power. Now this is only hearsay, as I have not enquired with the other CP's in town. This one is certainly worth considering if passing this way. My only complaint is that golly it is suddenly cold after crossing the The Tropic of Capricorn heading South. That is not the CP's fault so really no complaints.
Going to try and get some more sleep, if not there is always a Nanna nap in the afternoon.
