We have the option of purchasing a one owner 2004 Toyota Prado with 175,000s,on the clock, price $24000.Service history by reputable local dealer.Has many extras including reversing mirror, towbar etc...vehicle in excellent condition.will be towing a caravan with gross tow of under 1500kg,130 kg tow ball weight.Would it be folly to purchase this vehicle, bearing in mind, age & kms?Alternately looking at Pajero with about 50000 kms LESS on the clock,& under $30,000.Would be most interested in "seasoned caravanner's" who have experience with either vehicle.Thanking you.
G'day and welcome to the forum Percnellie you will have a much better chance of attracting an answer to your question if you repost it in the general or techinical sections,
I am biased because I tow my 21 foot van behind a Pajero and have clocked up somewhere around a hundred thousand Klm with the van on the back. I could not tow with the Prado because of the tow weight limit of the prado and I am very happy with the Pajero it does a great job towing and it is very comfortable.
Good luck and great travelling out in the big playground.
