Why is it that the people who post on the Solo G N section so nice to each other?

Frequently on many of the other sections the posters get very agro & often resort to personal attacks.

When I strike that sort of thing, I usually come to the Solo section for a bit of sanity, to remind myself of the lovely people post on the GN Forum.

 

It's like a breath of fresh air.

You can visit us here anytime and breath that fresh air.  Anyone with a respectful attitude is always welcome. I too like a nonaggressive friendly place to visit and I've found a bunch of happy solos here too. 

Happywanderer could be onto something there.

I don't post often but have been put off by the aggression displayed by some people on the General Forum.

I would love to meet up with some solos one day on my travels and enjoy the "niceness" - haha

Yes Footprints - Hip, Hip Hooray for us.......and don't forget another of our wonderful "Solos" qualities....... we're so MODEST... .... we would never dream of writing about how wonderful we were or boast of the fact that the sun shines out of our..... well we all know where it shines out of ,,, don't you.

And Gunny, yes it would be great to meet up somewhere for lunch...... but being so incredibly nice, we would order our food and then put it in the middle of the table so that we could all share it around. Let the party begin.

Ahhhhh ......... modest,    generous,   kind.....the list goes on........  It is great to one of the NICE ones........isn't it??

I find solos and couples very nice out and about, equally so. I guess I'll never understand why people sometimes sound harsh on forums. I can only think that it is difficult to write how we express ourselves in person. The expression on faces and in our voices, our personalities are hard to put into words.

I agree that words alone can be harsh sometimes, but a smiley face or Lol can always let others know you commented with humour or no rudeness intended. But hey.... that's them....and we're us .....  and we can just move on and set a NICE SOLOS example. biggrin

Hello all - I have a hubby who doesn't like/want to travel so I set off solo - I enjoy it a lot but I would prefer that he would come along but that is how it is. I want to see some of this great country - I have seen a bit but only a bit and I hope to do more. Yes you solos are a great bunch of people and I hope to meet some of you somewhere along the track.

Solos are free spirited, they have to be. I couldn't imagine rolling with anyone it would cramp my style. Geelong is not far from me and im thinking of travelling that way soon, maybe we can have a coffee.

Sadly people can hide behind their keyboard and say mean things.

It is not difficult to be nice to people in this great land of ours.

I have travelled 125,000km in the last 2 years and have rarely found a fellow solo. Glad to see you are still out there.
