couldn't agree more .... but where the bloody hell are you? to coin a phrase.
have just done nearly 9,000km and chatted to couples most of the time. se qld to darwin, adelaide and return home.
had a great time and planning darwin, perth, adelaide, home next time - after the cyclone season. been there, done that in a van at pt hedland and no desire to repeat what was an interesting experience.
so, do i wear my grey nomads shirt every day or what?
hope i get enlightenment. it's great to read your views.
Hi frednme - we usually post on this forum of our whereabouts - as do a lot of others, asking if someone is in the area, and wants to have a meetup - either in the "get together" section, or here on "general".
We look for GN stickers on vehicles as well - the other day met up with a member over here in WA - The Doo Crew - was in a bakery, they were parked out front, went into the dining room, and asked - so who's the Doo Crew? Mike sheepishly said, "me", and I introduced ourselves to him and his wife. A nice meeting, have had this happen a few times. Got to be a bit forward, I suppose.
Remember too, there are possibly 100,000 vans, motorhomes etc., travelling during "the season" in every state in Oz, and to run into GN members who number about 1,000, many of whom do not have stickers to identify themselves.
Bit like a needle in a haystack I think.
Oh look, here's two now............................
