just into NSW and after free camping spots please...

Hello Every one...Hope your Travelling is going well..We have stayed at Greens lake and were there for 4 days up till the Sunday Morning.. New Signs there saying...No Boats in swimming area yet people could not read and boats out after dark...crossing over each other and so on...Needs the water police there.Week enders make the place not so attractive..Was told they will be putting a fee for camping there and does get hundreds of people there so be it. Well looked after and a lovely big area. Toilets and Water yet will need a tap fixture to put into container... We have been to a free campsite called Pioneer Bridges located 30 kilometres out of Wangaratta. Shady and sunny areas...lovely swimming area with a sandy little beach front. We have 10 days to travel before going back to Wangaratta for Christmas and would love to hear from any one that know of a camping area we could stay at. Trying to get into a national park near Albury if there is any. Free camping would be nice ...We have the 18.5 Road Star Caravan... If you know of one or a campsite We would love to ear from you...Not near a main road please...Thanking you Kindly Karen

Many spots along Hume Hgw that are off the road a bit they are all rest-stops/memorials to VC recipients - some quite large and vey pleasant and clean toilets and picnic tables. All the way from Albury to Campbelltown.

The Pioneer Park at Wagga Wagga Just over the bridge but still walking distance to Shops, etc - free camp that I always stay at and get vehicle serviced and stock up on provisions and gadgetry at Disposals.

The absolute crème-de-la-crème is Jugiong Show ground near Gundagai - magnificent area, potable water, showers at swimming centre, honesty box. There is a beautiful memorial (near amenities block) that honours those Police that were killed in the line of duty.
There is a restaurant opposite gates of showground reputed to be best fine food in whole of Australia (reasonable priced) Long Track Pantry www.longtrackpantry.com.au/ a definite not to miss.
There are allegedly good fish in the Murrumbidgee which runs alongside the showgrounds - I never have tried to catch any as I'm content just to sit back and relax enjoying talking to whomever comes along, local or nomad.

Met a couple recently who had Wiki Camps on their iPad. Looked good. I just lashed out and spent $7.95 to download Wiki Camps to my Android. Trialled the free version for a week then decided to buy. There is a video that comes with the trial version that shows you how its works.
