We heard about this guy through wiki camps, and as we were in the area in need of some autoleccie advice, got his number from the local RSL.  He arrived within 30 minutes, consulted with Mr D, said he would be back tomorrow with the parts.  Will update this thread with the outcome, but I believe it will be favourable.
