Hi fellow nomads, looking for any feedback on Isuzu MUX. ok I got it wrong the first time around, and i am not happy with my tow vehicle. I have looked and read and narrowed it down to the MUX, considering car size, budget, reputation etc. Towing Jayco Journey 16 ft, about 2 T loaded i guess. Though we want the ability to tow something slightly larger in the future, but only 18 ft max perhaps.
Anyone who has the MUX, are you happy with the towing ability? I can't afford to get it wrong the second time, cars are too expensive!
I have a dmax and the MUX is similar. Get the auto, as its the same tranny as the big landcruisers, and beef up the rear suspension when you get it. You won,t be sorry.
Hi, I purchased a MUX to tow our 16ft New Age van and could not be happier with its performance .
It tows very well and is up there with economy whilst towing. A very comfortable vehicle and we are very happy with it.
Cheers

Despite the cost of living, it is still a very popular pass time.
Been a few posts here in the past 6 months that MUX suspensions sag when towing 'vans. Maybe try using the search function at the top of the page for MUX.
Also be aware that Isuzu will not accept any warranty claims to your suspension or associated gear if you upgrade it (or any other part that you change). Have a chat to the Service Dept at the Isuzu Dealer (don't believe the salesperson lol)
Perhaps get the Isuzu Dealer to bring round a MUX to your place, hook it up to your van and load up the van and rear of MUX with some heavy gear and see how it sits and handles on the road round your home.
I have a DMax and had a very minor problem which turned out to be dust in the front wishbone suspension. The 1st question the Isuzu dealer service dept asked was had I modified the suspension in any way, including after market springs, air bags etc. If I had, it would not have been fixed under warranty - which consisted of just blowing the dust out under pressure. I intend to upgrade my suspension once the warranty runs out
