Today I felt normal. Decided to go up town and have a wander around Stocklands Shopping Centre. First time I have driven the van in over 2 months, felt a bit nervous to start with. But once I was in and driving it felt like I hadn't been away from it at all.
The family have been away in Gladstone with Jacinta's mum's funeral arriving back tonight, so have had the place to myself for 3 days.
My hair must be only about a quarter of what I normally have, thank goodness I had very thick hair to start with. Can certainly see the bald patches now.
I'm getting collection of hats together, some I've ordered on eBay.
This is the first 3 of my collection. The 2 floral I have had for some time, The navy one in the middle Renee sent me for mothers day.
In the 2nd photo I bought some flowers for it today, purple for my favourite colour and pink for cancer.
Got to keep your sanity Marj - but isn't it funny, if you are sort of confined to an area for a while, and don't really want to be there, time just goes so slow - but when you are having a great time, but have to leave - time just flies!!!!!

Love the hats Marj. The flowers really dress up the navy one. Just a little tip - if it gets cold and you look to getting a few beanie type hats just check how soft they feel against your skin. My mum found some of the knitted ones prickly against her bare head. The polar fleece ones were softer on her skin. Take care and God bless. Cheers, Gaylene.
Thanks Gaylene for the tip. I hadn't thought of that. So far I've only ordered one that might be a problem. I know a couple of old beanies I have would be too rough on my head without hair so will take into account when buying.
Thanks guys, does get a bit stifling when not able to get out. At least the wether is nice here.
You're making me jealous Marg. They tell me I probably won't lose my hair; it will just thin out. So I have no excuse to obtain some fancy headwear like you. Cheers Alice
It takes a few days Alice. Usually the first week is crappy then come right in 2nd week, but you don't get that option having yours weekly.
My doctors have suggested I come down to 2 weekly from the 3 weekly I'm having now. Thinking seriously about it as will shorten the length of time nearly 5 weeks.
I have a pre admission appointment at hospital tomorrow. They have decided to install a central line instead of a cannula each week. Haven't got a date/time for this yet. Oh well I just have to go along with the flow. Alice
Thank goodness they haven't suggested a central line for me. I hope to stick to the canula only having another 6 treatments. Unfortunately we do have to go with the flow Alice. We are totally in their hands.
I am amazed how I can feel at home about things then get to the hospital and it all changes. They know best and we just follow their instructions and directions.
That's it Marj. Got a phone call from Bundaberg hospital today. Because of backlog for surgical procedures they may elect to have my procedure in one of the private facilities in the district. (No cost to me). They will let me know.
Two very brave ladies having a chat up there - great to see them supporting each other through this difficult time! Good wishes and good health to you both
Just had a phone call from oncology. Dr there wants to see me tomorrow before next chemo on Thursday (day early because of show holiday Fri). Guess all will be explained tomorrow.
