Gas cooktop in Van.

Hi Just back from 2 week roadtrip.  We only use the gas cooktop in our Jayco Dove to boil the kettle. First half of the trip the cooker was ok. Then it stopped getting gas thru.  Plenty of gas in bottle, Gas is fine to fridge and no gas leaks.  Any ideas why there isnt any gas to the cooker ?.

Much appreciated Rod.

if YOUR COOKER HAS A GLASS LID ON TOP OF IT MAKE SURE LID IS FULLY OPEN IF NOT GAS CAN NOT GET THROUGH

IT HAS A SWITCH CONNECTED TO THE LID

Another thing that can happen, if your stove top has a safety button which shuts off gas when you lower the lid, just check that the button has come up fully when you open the lid. It can become a bit sticky with fat and dirt and may not pop up fully. Just pull it up gently and give a good clean with nice hot soapy water to make it slide up more easily. Have learnt this one by frustrating experience last year after putting up with the problem for months. Eventually rang the manufacturer of the stove, was Swift in this case. Good luck and hope this may be of help. Cheers Wendy

WOW = great responses thank you. I didnt know anything about that switch. May explain why I have had the problem of no gas to the hob - then it seemed to work again after travelling - luckily before I had found someone to 'fix' the problem.. must find that switch :)

Thanks everyone, It was the safety switch. It had worked its way loose and wasn't making contact with the door. Was easily fixed, just needed tightening up. I put a tiny spot of locktight onto the thread that should keep it in place. Rod.
