i have a 2003 Winnebago Leisureseeker on an Iveco 50 Daily cab chassis which has a towing capacity of 3500kg. It has a Hayman reece towbar rated at 3500kg fitted, but the placard is missing. Does any one know what the rated towing capacity would be on this particular unit please
If you worried about the rating of the "tongue and ball"
Each ball has it's rating stamped on top and if you nip into a H/R agents.
they'll tell you what the tongue is.
I think it's dimensions of shaft.
They'll also give you a stick on label for it (may charge a coupla bucks)
Thanks for the info Macka 17. At this stage HR say towbar is OK for 3500 kg, but on some Winnebago's there is a short chassis extension and this can affect the actual towing capacity of the individual vehicle I am told, and this is the info I am after. Do have a placard or sticker on your towbar that tells you the towing capacity for your particular vehicle, because it would probably be the info am looking for.
My Patrol bar had label. 3200kg. no mention of length.
This D.Max I had fitted says 3 ton on label he stuck on hitch itself.
BUT. he days he puts. 2.8/3.0/ 3.2 and 3.5t on them, depending on vehicle.
(big box of labels)
The units themselves, all rated for 3.5 ton.
He said they made to cover claims if somebody puts a 3.5t ball on 2.5t hitch and rips it off. killing somebody.
My tongue. (Patrol) has 3.2 ton label on it.
others I have For Patrol. have 3.5 ton stamped on them and you fit your 2.5/3.5 ball to suit.
Your cars spec's should give variations of weights at different lengths of tongue etc.
Nobody else can......
, but on some Winnebago's there is a short chassis extension and this can affect the actual towing capacity of the individual vehicle I am told, and this is the info I am after.
If this is a chassis modification that has been done by Winnebago then I suggest that only the manufacturer can tell you what the new towing figures are.

By law.
If the Vehicle chassis is extended.By MFG or Coachbuilder.
It will have a towbar limits on label somewhere.
Look inside door frames?. or on rear chassis rail.
OR on compliance plate under bonnet.
Also plate with VIN on it,
take a magnifying glass or camera and blow it up on comp.
Any variation to std Factory/Registration spec's.
. it has to be on A compliance plate somewhere.
Probably one of those Blue ones.
Any GOOD Winebago dealer ????Wishful thinking...
Should have spec's of all models he's sold, going back a few yrs.
WITH Variations to models.
Look around net and get ph no's.
