Our son has just set himself up with the full camping tent and the necessaries for tent camping . they intend to start of camping in Caravan Parks.
They have all 10 amp electrical items including the 10 amp electric cord for 240 power.. Can they plug the 10 amp cord into the power box at the C.park.?? My view is that all C.Parks have 15 amp power boxes. Is that so.??/ So the Question is :-
If this is so re the C.Park 15 amp power box, how can he access power using his 10 amp power cord???

Just plug the 10 amp lead straight into the 15 amp socket, it will fit easily. Tell him to be careful not to be drawing more than a total of around 10 amps.
They are essentially the same plug a 10 amp lead I will fit a 15 amp outlet but a 15 amp lead will not fit in the 10 amp outlet the earth is bigger in a 15 amp male end otherwise they are the same, but as said by others and as in any and every case don't overload the lead rating

For their own safety they should buy a 10 Amp Power Board with built in RCD, that way they can't draw more than 10 amps plus the added safety of the RCD. You can get them at the Big Green Shed. I'd recommend getting the Arlec outdoor type (second image) since they're in a tent.
Steve, Di & Ziggy We named our Motorhome "Roadworx" because on the road works "On The Road Again" Ford Transit with 302 Windsor V8 conversion, C4 Auto, 9 Inch Ford Diff All Lighting L.E.D., 260 Amp/h AGM, 530 Watt Solar + Kipor Backup Gen.
They should also understand that there are specific requirements under the Standards for any outlet box used in a tent. So ensure any that are used are "approved "for such use
The strip outlet boards , double adapters, etc ,electrical outlet boxes complying with AS 3105 shall not be used [are definitely not approved.]
The Arlec IP44 rated unit in a previous post is OK but should be kept undercover & off the ground
The other unit is not approved

I just did the very thing at a Hervey Bay Caravan Park. Just plugged my 10A extension cord into the Caravan Park's 15A outlet to run my 12v fridge/freezer and my IPhone and IPad's charger and it all worked fine.
